Basketmouth began his career in the Nigerian entertainment scene in the late 1990s, initially attempting to break into the music industry as a rapper. After his early rap groups failed to gain traction, he transitioned to comedy.
His breakthrough came in the early 2000s, performing at key comedy platforms like the popular Night of a Thousand Laughs show, which established him as a major force in the industry.
International Fame #
Basketmouth is renowned for taking Nigerian stand-up comedy to a global audience. He has organised and toured his own sold-out international comedy concerts, most notably the Basketmouth Uncensored series, performing in cities across the United Kingdom, the United States, and South Africa. He also holds the distinction of being the first African comedian to host his own show, Lord of the Ribs, at major venues like the O2 Arena in London.
